Pathways and Passions
A fascinating chat with Tim Racer, an old friend from Topeka broadcast days, who is an accomplished lawyer, and during Covid rediscovered an old passion, and penned the musical "Problematic Man", a baseball themed play that will debut at the KC Fringe festival next month. Raised in Belton, Mo., he studied law at Washburn, eventually finding his career path at the Kauffman Foundation. Sports, law broadcasting, and now playwright, a great conversation!
Giant Figures and Outsized Talents
Lengthy tributes to the recently lost iconic figures Brian Wilson and Sly Stone, the Led Zeppelin documentary, other remebrances, new albums and tours, great performances and more. Always full of information and smiles!
Off the Road, On the Mark
I'm back and raring to go after an ups and downs weekend starting with the downtrodden Royals, who we will dive into with David Lesky from Inside the Crown. Plus carnage, high drama, and a heroic comeback by J.J. Spaun at the U.S. Open, KC Current hot, SKC not, NBA and NHL high octane finals, and more. Come on along!
On the Road, In the Loop
Danny checks in from the Sand Hills and the banter boys kick around the Royals woes and near future, college football issues, the NBA and NHL playoffs, and the usual enjoyable detours. Join in!
Valentines and Vistas
The home stretch of my "Leaving Cancer" road trip reprise is on. Crazy weather, lost items, amazing vistas, cool bike rides, golf, old west revisisted, and more. Join the journey and have a little fun!
High Plains Drifter
Another quick check in as I hit the home stretch of my "Leaving Cancer for the Circus", decade later, reprise road trip. Real summer kicks in with temperature the last couple days near 100. Mix of golf, an old western town re-creation, tiny county seat tales, a little music, and more. An enjoyable mini-pod listen for ya!
Finding The Amazing
My “Leaving Cancer” reprise road trip has checked every box. After four days with lots to come, I’m just checking in a little bit about the sports weekend….and the delights of the Black Hills, small towns, and life’s little moments in this on the road mini-pod. Enjoy!
Perseverance, Professionalism, and Panache
A revealing, emotional, and inspiring conversation with Easton President Joe Speicher. My good friend and Thirsty compatriot is a true American success story, overcoming a challenging upbringing in tiny Inman, Kansas, working many odd jobs and graduating from KU, settling into a career in the roofing business, and starting his own company in 2014. A decade later the company is one of the area's top enterprises. Riveting, engaging, and enjoyable!
Listing and Listening
Eclectic and entertaining as always, the guys focus on a couple of KC music organizations, health challenges and passings, and intersting lists. In focus Morgan Wallen, Folly Theater, Billboard charts, Billy Joel, Tom Petty, The Red Clay Strays, Bill Murray, Paul McCartney, Rick Derringer, and many others. Join in!
Anticipating, Dominating, Sublimating, and Ruminating
